Glimpse our New All-in-One POS Solution: Air Register

Today, we introduce the next phase of POS technology with our Air Register. Soon, POS software providers will be able to offer their app in a stylish all-in-one hardware package, featuring an EMV card reader. The Air Register will be released commercially by the end of 2016.

SumUp Air Register includes:

• SumUp EMV card reader to accept chip and magnetic stripe cards, and contactless NFC payments, including Apple Pay and Android Pay

• iPad mini to use with any POS register software integrated with the SumUp payments platform (or the SumUp app)

• Standard size thermal receipt printer

• Wooden oak case

The Air Register was designed and built by SumUp and works smoothly with our existing EMV card readers, payment processing platform, and risk and anti-fraud system. By integrating with our open platform, POS software providers can offer a seamless payment experience in their native or mobile browser-based apps without having to go through the trouble of certifying with card schemes or acquirers and maintaining PCI compliance. With a single integration that takes just a few hours, software providers can take payments in over 15 countries on three continents.

The Air Register is made of dense oak wood procured from sustainable forestry. As a design object, it's minimalist and well-balanced, showcasing simple geometries and a soft contrast between natural and artificial textures. The tablet is housed on an elegant slope with a dial located on the back: turn it and the tablet gently pops out for easy charging. Cards are inserted comfortably and securely into the slot located at the top of the register. Both the card reader and the printer face the customer, optimizing the payment experience.

“Over the last year, we have experienced huge demand from tablet-based cash register providers to be able to connect their apps with our open payments platform. At the same time we have identified a lack of a beautiful, all-in-one POS hardware piece. With the launch of Air Register we are now filling this gap and are enabling our partners to offer their apps in a stunning package.”
