SumUp’s vision is to become a first ever global card acceptance brand, by redefining the Banking and Acquiring industry standards through constant and technology-driven innovation. While the banking landscape is undergoing rapid change, driven by innovation on technological regulatory side and speed of settlements, it registers a sluggish adoption rate of new technologies and it remains highly influenced by local contexts. As such, one size does not fit all and a perfect banking settlement service/product is a moving target. We are looking for a self-driven personality who shares our vision to help us build and run our banking operations and help us make card payments as fast as cash

What you’ll be doing in this position

  • You will work closely with internal (e.g. operations) and external stakeholders (e.g. banks) to continuously drive banking innovation and come up with value-based proposals.
  • You will identify opportunities to streamline and automate our payments processes through agile experiments, data analysis and customer communication.
  • You will build strong relations with our banking partners, by being the first point of contact in every situation –  from incident management to due diligence support.
  • You will help deliver our comprehensive global banking strategy, through your critical thinking skills and by monitoring the implementation of new initiatives.
  • You will keep up with industry news, new products/offers and banking standards, whilst being a source of knowledge and shaping the future of SumUp.
  • You know what awaits you: fast-paced decision making, bias for action culture and display of owner attitude, while not being afraid to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty.


Your Profile

  • You have 1-3 years of work experience – ideally in banking or fintechs
  • You're a fast learner
  • You have a minimum Bachelor's degree
  • You can work with a high degree of autonomy and ownership
  • You are comfortable with fast-paced environment
  • You have experience in client-facing situations
  • You have a deep understanding of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • You are fluent in English (written and spoken) - you'll be part of a truly global company!
