The Sales Team Lead role will sit in our Berlin office and report to the Head of Sales & Partnerships to play a key role in contributing to our ambitious goals to build long lasting strategic partners across all of SumUp’s operating countries. The sales team are at the forefront of SumUp's interactions with key industry players with whom we identify opportunities for merchant acquisition, brand building and upselling the SumUp product suite. Having a hunter mentality, with exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to coach is key to success in the role. You will be expected to close headline partnerships, while managing a team and driving personal development.
What you’ll be doing in this position
You'll be responsible for driving the Sales team, along with driving your own pipeline as a proven sales leader
You'll manage the growing international Sales team, along with coaching team members to become greater Sales Gurus
You'll analyse data and internal reports to help optimise the team member performance, assess the sales pipeline and the existing partner portfolio
Alongside the Head of Sales & Partnerships, you will set Sales targets and be accountable for your team’s performance, which will ultimately define additional hiring needs.
You have minimum 5-7 years experience working in Sales or Business Development;
You must have managed, coached and lead a team;
You are self-driven, proactive, persistent, pragmatic and have a can-do attitude.
You have completed a bachelor's degree, having an MBA will be considered a plus;
Experience with B2B is preferred;
You have excellent presentation and language skills (verbally and written) in English - you'll be part of a truly global company! Fluency in additional European languages is considered a plus
You feel comfortable communicating with and convincing C-level business partners.
You must be willing to be located in Berlin full time. You are able and willing to travel if required.
