Copywriter

SumUp is growing fast and currently expanding into the consumer sector by offering a mobile payment app. For this new consumer focus we are looking for a Communication Specialist for our office in Cologne. In this role, you will be an advocate of the SumUp brand, by creating engaging and compelling content. You will work closely with the marketing team of the Consumer Tribe to execute marketing experiments in order to find product market-fit first and subsequently design a marketing plan on different media channels to promote the new product. These channels comprise paid media like Facebook, Google and TV as well as classic email marketing. We are looking for a team player with a strong attitude towards discovering creative solutions. In this role you will:

• Work with the Consumer and Marketing teams to set the tone for our content and drive cohesive narratives across multiple platforms and touch points

• Create fresh and compelling copy for all our marketing channels, including emails, landing pages, social media, and performance marketing campaigns

• React to current public events in record time to capitalize on cheap and viral marketing opportunities

• Identify new content needs, and test initiatives across the different channels

• Ensure we present a consistent brand across our content

• Monitor the content strategy of relevant competitors, stay on top of the latest industry trends and share them with the overall marketing team

• Become the expert for SumUp’s consumer business and understand needs for the specific industry/develop industry-specific content ideas

YOU'LL BE GREAT FOR THIS POSITION IF

• You have native-level English speaking and writing abilities

• You have 2+ years proven track record of relevant experience in Communications or Branding

• You have an editor’s eye with the ability to craft engaging yet concise content

• You have a knack for provocative campaigns oriented on current public events

• You have a distinct sense for creative copy

• You have a hands on mentality, the ability to achieve accuracy in writing and put strong attention to detail

• You have a good analytical understanding and are able to make content decisions based on data

• Being fluent in German is a plus

• Being familiar with modern design tools and services is a plus
