Software Engineer - Online Payments

In Payments Tribe our goal is to build a global financial ecosystem while turning transactions into interactions. Online Payments is the next generation payment platform, part of the SumUp services and ecosystem. As a Software Engineer, you will be part of a team that is passionate about what they do, committed to one another and to our merchants.

On the tech side, we work on a number of different projects that span technologies, systems, and processes. A few of the technologies we're leveraging at SumUp include Java, Kotlin, Docker, Kubernetes, Ruby, Node.js, Redis, PostgreSQL.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• Develop modern scalable and high available web and backend applications

• Participate in API design and implementation for both internal and external APIs

• Own and maintain the business domain that your applications touches

• Implement clean, maintainable and testable code

YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT FOR THIS POSITION IF

• You have previous experience as a backend engineer  

• You have a solid understanding of design principles and designing clear and predictable REST APIs

• You have practical experience with relational databases or data-modeling

• You are interested in DevOps topics, such as working with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and/or Jenkins

• You are open to learning different tools, frameworks, and languages to get the job done.
