Product Tribe Lead

TeamThe Merchant Growth tribe’s mission is to build an ecosystem of simple yet powerful products for our 1.5m+ merchants around the world which will help them grow their business. In addition to our core product, the Point-of-Sale (POS) application, the teams within the tribe also provide merchants with invoicing and eCommerce solutions.

Beyond this, we’ll expand SumUp’s ecosystem with additional products and services such as accounting, marketing, loyalty and business analytics, all available in one place. The products we develop strengthen SumUp’s value proposition and ability to serve small merchants around the world.Role Description

As our Product Tribe Lead, you’ll play an important part in shaping SumUp’s product strategy. You’ll provide product leadership to multiple teams spread across multiple locations. By mentoring and guiding our product managers and design leads you’ll be in the driving seat of building a connected multi-product suite combining several powerful business solutions into a unique value proposition. This is a unique opportunity to shape and build SumUp’s products, used by millions of merchants. We’re looking for a motivated, innovative thinker with the ability to quickly recognise opportunities and apply exceptional product leadership to help SumUp capitalise on our mission to empower small merchants around the world.What you’ll do

• Be a key driver of and stakeholder in SumUp’s multi-product strategy

• Ensure the Merchant Growth tribe delivers maximum customer value in line with SumUp’s product vision

• Align and coordinate product development across multiple teams to ensure dependencies are dealt with inside as well as outside the tribe

• Promote a structured process for identifying and assessing product priorities through analysis and insights while leveraging the knowledge of all teams across the tribe

• Foster a collaborative culture and define the associated prerequisites such as cadences, communication channels and common tools for the tribe

• Provide consolidated and structured input for the Engineering team within the tribe and, when needed, across tribes to support our products

• Collect requirements within the tribe and provide input for SumUp platform changes to enable product development and discovery across customer touchpoints

• Drive the identification and assessment of future product expansion opportunities through in-house development, strategic partnerships or acquisitions 

• Be the go-to person and represent the tribe in front of senior leadership across SumUp

You’ll be great for this position if

• You have 15+ years of relevant product management and leadership experience managing a suite of software products; experience in the mobile/SaaS space is a plus.

• You’re a leader who balances pragmatism with visionary leadership and builds consensus among teams. 

• You’re a true people person who teams love to work with.

• You have excellent communication skills and a proven track record working with stakeholders across large organisations.

• You’ve mastered the art of product management, having developed an excellent nose for value, customer understanding and technical abilities while building impactful products. 

• You have a deep understanding of multi-product environments and associated platforms and technology.
