As our business evolves and we propose newer and more innovative solutions for our merchants around the world, we increasingly feel the need to have a team who can help us establish truly world-leading anti-fraud capabilities. For us, anti-fraud is a value stream that aims to support our vision of turning transactions into interactions by becoming the world's largest aggregator of information on people.

This position reports to the Payments Tribe Lead but will serve all Tribes. We are open to having it based in either Berlin, São Paulo, Sofia or Boulder.

As Head of Anti-Fraud, you'll be expected to:

  • Define the overall anti-fraud strategy and coordinate it with the leaders of different tribes and execute it with different squads and functional teams in order to support their goals from an anti-fraud perspective

  • Analyse market developments, especially technological solutions and artificial intelligence, and provide anti-fraud guidelines together with local operations managers in order to create efficient decision matrices for the Risk Support teams

  • Lead the engineering and data science teams, coordinating the engineering of the anti-fraud platform

  • Lead the Anti-Fraud squad(s)

  • Lead the design and construction of a merchant and consumer database in order to review and approve transactions faster

  • Apply machine learning algorithms to behavioral patterns on account and transaction basis

  • Closely work with Product to evaluate measures that will help gather additional data points from different user groups

  • Own the defence against any fraud-related attacks

You'll be great for this position if:

  • You have experience and an solid track record in fraud data and engineering

  • Your are experienced as a leader - both hiring, firing and developing your own team but also being recognised for inspiring people around you towards a vision and influencing stakeholders with different tenures and from different locations and cultures

  • You are great at communicating with both highly technical teams and business teams

  • You speak fluent English - we're a truly global company
