Senior Product Manager - SumUp Bank

At SumUp Bank we take this to the next level. You'll leverage SumUp's global resources to create the Fair Bank for the Everyday Hero in Brazil. You'll spearhead the product development for a digital bank that is uniquely positioned to be among the biggest digital banks in Brazil, focused on providing simple, fair and accessible financial services to the micro-entrepreneurs, unbanked, underbanked or those that simply are not perfectly served by current market offerings.

What you’ll be doing in this job

As part of SumUp, but operating on an autonomous team fully dedicated to creating SumUp bank, you'll be building a digital banking platform that will help small business owners in being even more empowered to managing their finances and thriving at doing what they love. 

As a Product for SumUp Bank you will both need to be hands-on, working to discover, experiment and develop full solutions aligned with our purpose but also hire and lead the super-star Product and Design team that will take us to the stars. Reporting to the Head of Banking, you'll work together to define, refine and deliver the Product Vision, making sure that the customer always comes first in every decision we make. 

It will be no small feat to be the voice of the customer and effectively help us tap into the huge potential market for financial services for micro merchant, expanding our market presence but keeping SumUp's tradition of having best-in-class user satisfaction. What you’ll be doing in this job

As part of SumUp, you will work with an autonomous team that is developing a global state-of-the-art offline acquisition machine that will enable hundreds of thousands of micro-entrepreneurs to accept card payments. In the European Market we are leveraging hundreds of retailers and in South America we are scaling up a network of thousands of consultants who dedicate their lives to take SumUp to the furthest corners of Brazil.

As a Senior Product Manager you will work in a safe to fail environment where we will give you full autonomy to discover, experiment and develop full solutions aligned with that purpose. We expect you to work collaboratively with a diverse team, closely interact with our customers and internal stakeholders, challenge the current scenario and build constructively over that. 

Requirements

  • Fluency (verbal and written communication) in English and Portuguese - you'll be working in a truly global company!

  • 6+ years of experience as Product Manager/Product Owner in which you have shipped complex products successfully before – from ideation to launch.

    • Defined product vision and strategy for your domain and communicate the rationale behind the product decisions to the engineering team and stakeholders

    • Experienced in working with cross-functional teams of Frontend and Backend developers, scrum masters, and QA specialists

    • You have been driving the sprint prioritization, writing user stories and maintaining the backlog

    • Gathered and analysed user feedback (qualitatively and quantitatively), competitors and market trends

    • Managed and collaborated with stakeholders with diverse mindsets for strategy building and prioritization

    • Demonstrated experience in agile development methodologies and customer-oriented principles

    • Approach of problems in a methodical, data-informed way
