Head of Talent Acquisition Europe

The ability to bring the best talent in the market onboard, while cultivating our company’s culture, has become one of the most critical aspects of our business.

As the Head of Talent Acquisition for Europe, you will be part of the global People team and will have a strategic role in helping us build one of the best companies to work for in the world. The Talent Acquisition team is currently spread around 3 main locations in the world (Berlin, São Paulo, and Sofia), but is now expanding to cover other offices.  We are truly international, as our members come from 12 different countries around the globe: Russia, Ukraine, Spain, Brazil, Argentina, Canada, England, Italy, Netherlands, Bulgaria, Finland, and Sweden. 

Your main challenges as our new Head of Talent Acquisition for Europe will be to:

  • Design and coordinate the implementation of recruitment strategies in all European locations (Germany, Bulgaria, Warsaw, Denmark, Ukraine, UK, Netherlands, and Luxembourg), in order to deliver our ambitious, scale-up, hiring targets

  • Participate in global discussions about SumUp’s overall talent acquisition and employer branding strategies, ensuring consistency when needed around different locations

  • Be the ultimate accountable for all employer branding, candidate attraction, candidate assessment, analysis of potential new markets for talent, geographic studies and third-party support in Europe

  • Advise the local leadership team on hiring strategies in agreement with their growth plans, including deciding when to start/expand/reduce their local recruitment teams.

  • Report results and most relevant KPIs to the leadership team, designing and implementing metrics when needed

  • Lead growing recruitment and Employer Brand teams in all European locations (manage managers), guiding them in the execution of their roles and supporting their development needs

 You'll be great for this position if

  • You have great problem-solving skills, ie the ability to, in the context of ambiguity and chaos, understand which problem to solve, identify its drivers, use data in its analysis, prioritize, develop and implement recommendations

  • You have great project management skills, designing and delivering mid and high complexity projects

  • You are curious and have an intrinsic interest for Talent Acquisition topics, you keep yourself informed of the market practices, trends, and studies

  • You have outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills 

  • You are an experienced people leader (manage managers) and have a track record hiring and developing your own team, as well as working with remote or cross-cultural teams

  • You can quickly learn about the changes in the environment and adapt to them, showing resilience and flexibility

  • You are fluent in English, as you will be part of a truly global team

  • You are available to travel up to 25% of your time.

  • If you have experience in technology companies or scale-ups, that’s preferred
