As Lead Product Designer you will be joining Hardware Tribe which creates our beautifully designed card payment devices. We empower our people to own their work end-to-end, so you’ll be leading the product from a design perspective, having a holistic approach on the experience, from discovery to delivery - always keeping in mind our customers and their interests! That means having a head for strategy as well as having the skills and willingness to roll up your sleeves and get involved with the details of making great products.
As we put the merchant at the center of every decision we need a strong leader that constantly advocates and drives a human-centered design approach. You will support squads by applying your craft, delivering on our commitment to design excellence, while also driving the evolution of our processes and guidelines to educate fellow designers on how to best approach problems. You will mentor designers on your team for career development and design excellence.
What you’ll be doing
You will be partnering with the Product Managers, Engineers, and other colleagues, working in a cross-functional and distributed team. Together, you will be actively involved in defining the customers’ and the business’ problems
You will work closely with user researcher in the tribe: initiate, coordinate and review research projects that connect business and user’s needs
From wire-framing to designing end-to-end flows and prototypes, you will be in charge of designing products that solve problems in a simple and elegant way while taking care of every small detail
You will be formulating and reviewing Product flow among our product portfolio in clear and coherent logic
You will be supporting and improving our design system together with other designers
You will have responsibility around hiring, people management and team mentoring. You will also interact with our most senior stakeholders (up to C-level)
You'll be great for this role if
You have 7+ years of experience in designing world-class complex apps with strong focus on UX and understanding of human behaviour
You have a portfolio featuring examples of complex product design work
You have experience leading a team of at least 3 Designers
You execute across all phases of design work: participate in research, define conceptual foundation for design solutions, execute excellent UX flows, apply visual design systems, prototype using a variety of tools and methods, create production ready designs, participate or conduct usability testing and support multi-disciplinary teams during implementation
You work independently on complex set of features, collaborate with product management and engineering to arrive at optimal solutions
You bring technical savvy to your design discussions and collaborate early and closely with engineers to ensure design decisions and technical complexity align
