The mission of SumUp’s Lending Tribe is to provide our small merchants, who are often turned away by traditional financial institutions, with access to capital to grow their businesses. We are injecting capital into millions of existing and new merchants' businesses to foster their sustainability and growth through credit products!
As an Analytics Engineer in this green-field tribe, you’ll work with a cross-functional team to bring transparent, affordable and seamless lending products to millions of small merchants across our 30+ markets. You’ll play a leading role in enabling tribe-wide analytics and evolving SumUps data culture.
What you’ll do
Champion self-service data analytics - partnering with business and product teams to improve our data literacy and decision making.
Design scalable and intuitive analytical models.
Own the governance of the lending ecosystem ensuring that our data models are consistent with our information architecture.
Deliver training, support and best practices to data producers and consumers improving platform usage and trust in our data.
Work closely with business functions to understand our data taxonomy, including building data dictionaries.
Drive the data collection and exploration strategy of existing and new data sources
You’ll be great for this role if
You're well versed with modern data architecture including experience with cloud data warehouse technologies and confident working with large datasets (e.g. BigQuery, Snowflake).
You possess an excellent understanding of data integrity and data quality.
Software engineering experience and hands-on experience on automation, including scripting (python), version control and CI/CD.
Practical experience in Tableau, Looker, or similar visualization / business intelligence platforms.
You’re fluent in data ingestion and data warehousing fundamentals.
Your previous experience within the financial services and banking domain rounds your profile.
