The principal responsibility of the Card Scheme Compliance Officer is to effectively ensure that SumUp remains compliant with Card Scheme regulations.
To ensure effective compliance this involves keeping up to date with current scheme rules, regulations and obligations as an Acquirer, Issuer, Payment Facilitator and PSP and to analyse any changes from a business and technical perspective, assess their impact, communicate to key stakeholders in tribes and markets the impacts of such changes and work closely with those stakeholders to drive the changes through to implementation.
We would also expect you to stay on top of industry trends including associated legal and regulatory changes which may also have an impact on the processing of payment transactions or the issuing of cards.
In addition the role requires the Card Scheme Compliance Officer to work closely with the tribes and markets that own the strategic relationship and partnerships with the card schemes.
What you’ll do
Monitor compliance with scheme rules and regulations throughout the company
Advise on new and existing business initiatives where necessary to ensure adherence to payment Scheme rule and regulations
Work with the tribes and markets to ensure timely implementation of amended and new scheme rules and regulations that could impact compliance and reputational risk
Proactively recognize scheme compliance risk and communicate to the tribes and markets
Follow up on issues and perform risk-based investigations
Share knowledge and best practices by coaching and mentoring relevant teams in the tribes and markets and expand overall scheme compliance knowledge
Represent SumUp at the required payment scheme forums and meetings
You’ll be great for this role if
You have a deep knowledge of the card scheme rules and requirements and demonstrate the ability to identify issues as well as assess and mitigate risk.
You’ve worked at least 5 years in a similar role at a Acquirer, Issuer, Payment Scheme or Industry Leader in Payments
You’re able to thrive in a rapidly-changing environment. This industry is constantly moving. Think two steps ahead.
