Head of People - Platform Tribe
As Head of People in the Platform tribe, you’ll be working with cross-functional teams which include engineers, designers, product managers, etc. The tribe currently has around 130 people based across Berlin, Sofia and Sao Paulo. Your direct team consists of two people partners and a small team of talent acquisition partners and a coordinator.
You’ll ensure that the tribe’s organisational structure is developed in a scalable way, that the leadership team is challenged and coached in a way that encourages their development – and make sure this tribe forms into a singular entity, working together towards a common goal.
As a senior member of the Tribe steering group, reporting to the tribe leader (VP of engineering) , you’ll help shape a healthy culture that fosters innovation and is a driving force in creating great teams – teams that ultimately create amazing products, allowing SumUp to fulfil the vision of creating a world where small businesses can be successful doing what they love.
Additionally you will be part of the global core leadership team together with other heads of people and functional leads, collaborating on company wide policies and processes and co-creating people strategy across tribes.
What you’ll do
Partner with and advise Platform leadership on People-related strategy and decisions
Coach and guide leadership towards desired situational leadership styles that enable autonomous teams
Future-proof teams through proactively advising on skills gaps in the various teams – help to define new roles
Advise on organisational structure as we evolve and grow in size
Ensure the PlatformTribe members have individual developmental needs recognised and planned for
Drive employee engagement initiatives across the tribe
Promote and shape a culture of learning from failure across all offices
You’ll be great for this role if
You have relevant experience in Human Resources related roles with a proven track record as a Head of People/Lead people partner or equivalent.
You have fantastic and demonstrable leadership capabilities.
You have influential coaching communication skills – and can present vision in an articulate way that inspires teams and other leaders.
You have experience in an agile working environment.
You have proven experience guiding large teams and People leaders through transformations within a fast growing tech environment.
If you have experience in both startups and large organisations, that would be considered a plus.
