Business Development Manager - DACH
SumUp card readers are available off-the-shelf in over 7000+ stores and webshops across the EU at ‘Bricks & Mortar’ retailers and e-tailers. In this role you will be part of the Retail team and report to the Business Development Lead, playing a key role in our ambitious retail expansion activities. We believe we are only at the beginning of our retail journey and we have identified huge potential at our doorsteps that we need you to unlock. Our retail presence plays a key role in making SumUp’s solution easily available to business owners on every street corner, through strategic retail partnerships across the continent. You will both lead our existing retail partnerships and expansion by identifying, engaging, negotiating and closing partnerships with other strong retail brands that will boost our distribution and brand exposure to new heights. To achieve this goal you will work closely with our retail team of Business Development Managers and Trade Marketers to get profitable deals in and live.
What you’ll do
You will be responsible for driving SumUp growth within existing top retailers within Consumer Electronics and Cash&Carry. Experience within MSD will be considered a strong plus.
You will coordinate expansion in other strategic Verticals such as Office Supply and Grocery leveraging sales agencies as one team.
You will be empowered to do your job and have full ownership over the strategy to grow the retail forecasts and performance for the area.
You will establish long-term business relationships and strategic relevance with selected high-revenue /growth retail customers.
You will Identify and execute opportunities to drive brand awareness, performance and market share within the area in retail.
You'll be great for this position if
You have a 5+ years’ experience in business development, key account management or retail sales within FMCG or Consumer Electronics in the DACH region
You have strong negotiation skills, sales acumen and are trustworthy. Experience negotiating with buyers/category managers/retailers is essential for this role
You plan and execute complete and successful Joint Business Plans with retailers to secure maximum visibility and product rotation
You have an entrepreneurial mindset and are result and data driven
You have strong written and spoken communication skills in both German and English. Additional languages are a plus.
