We are accelerating our partnerships business and have ambitious goals to grow our portfolio with a focus on Integrated Software Vendors (ISVs) in 2025. We are looking to strengthen our Sales Engineering capabilities to provide partners with a smooth onboarding and implementation experience.
We are therefore hiring an experienced Sales Engineering Lead to drive the technical aspects of our partner sales process, ensure successful implementation of our payment solutions, and spearhead the collaboration with our internal product team. This person will play a critical role in facilitating new integrations and providing critical partner feedback to inform SumUp’s product roadmap.

What you’ll do
Drive the technical aspects of the sales process and ensure successful implementation of our payment solutions
Collaborate with sales teams to develop tailored proposals that address client needs
Provide technical expertise on our card readers hardware, SDKs, APIs and online payment solutions
Conduct product demonstrations and proof-of-concept implementations
Assist in resolving complex technical issues during the sales and implementation processes
Contribute to the development of sales enablement materials and technical documentation
Stay updated on industry trends and competitor offerings to inform product strategy
Collaborate closely with the product team to:
Provide feedback on existing features based on client interactions and market needs
Contribute to the development of new features by sharing insights from client engagements
Develop internal and external SLAs to provide the best in class tech support to our integrated partners
Participate in bug triage and prioritization processes
Assist in testing new features and providing technical feedback
Lead and mentor the solution engineering team, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high performance, manage team workload, set performance goals, and conduct regular performance reviews
Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing within the teams
You'll be great for this position if
You have proven experience in solution engineering or technical sales, preferably in the FinTech or Payments industry
You have excellent technical problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively
You have outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
You have advanced stakeholder management and lateral leadership skills, the ability to achieve buy-in through influence, work cross-functionally and partner strategically with product and engineering teams
You have commercial acumen and a track record of partnering with Sales teams to drive revenue
You have previous experience in team management
You have a strong understanding of payment technologies
You have experience with SDK and API integrations
You previously worked with CRM systems and sales processes
You have an academic background in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent work experience
