Role Overview:

The Payments Operations Lead will oversee and optimize the creation of our operational processes related to payment processing, payments infrastructure, transaction monitoring, and partner relationships. This highly visible role is essential to ensuring a seamless experience for merchants, managing payment infrastructure, and driving cross-functional operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

  • Lead the implementation of our payment processing infrastructure and processes

  • Oversee daily payment operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions

  • Monitor and resolve processing exceptions, settlement discrepancies, and payment failures in coordination with our analytics team

Team Leadership:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (i.e. sales, customer support, risk and compliance, and analytics) to streamline processes and improve merchant experiences

  • Support sales leadership and sales teammates with ISO/MP partner relationship management, to include periodic business reviews and performance monitoring

Payment Infrastructure:

  • Work closely with technical teams to implement, maintain, and optimize payment gateway integrations like NMI

  • Identify and recommend tools to improve operational efficiency and transaction visibility

Merchant Support:

  • Act as a point of escalation for merchants experiencing payment-related issues, providing timely resolution in conjunction with sales and operations teammates

  • Educate merchants on best practices and platform features to maximize their operational success in conjunction with product marketing, marketing, and sales teammates

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements across all payment operations

  • Collaborate with risk and fraud teams to monitor suspicious activity and take corrective actions

Reporting and Analytics:

  • Develop and maintain operational dashboards and performance reports in conjunction with our analytics and rev ops teammates to support performance management, commission reconciliation, and partner payments

  • Provide insights and recommendations based on transaction data to improve overall efficiency and profitability

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 3+ years of experience in payment processing operations, preferably within an ISO or FinTech environment

  • Deep understanding of payment gateways, processors, and transaction lifecycle

  • Proficiency in tools like NMI, IRIS, and other payment platforms is highly preferred

  • Experience managing payment partnerships with ISOs and/or MSPs

  • Extensive experience with payment processing free structures, to include interchange-plus-plus and flat rate pricing models

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex transaction data and recommend solutions

  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities to manage internal teams and external partners effectively

  • Knowledge of industry regulations (PCI-DSS, NACHA, etc.) and risk management strategies

Compensation: 

  • 90,000-110000 per annum. 

  • Compensation will be finalized based on the candidate’s experience and location
