Fullstack Backend (NodeJs) Engineer - Invoices Tribe

You will be part of the Invoices and Expenses Tribe, in the Copenhagen office. As a tribe, we are an autonomous team that works as a “micro company” within SumUp. You will be part of a cross-functional feature team (a squad), within the Tribe. We help merchants understand their finances. Our goal as a team is to create new products and services that show merchants how they earn and spend money. 

You will work on the Expenses product that will impact millions of merchants across the world daily, you will contribute to its vision and future, together with Designers, Product Managers and other talented Engineers. 

What you’ll do

  • Participate actively in both engineering and product discussions 

  • Participate in the design and development of our APIs, both for internal and external use (customers & partners)

  • Improve our user interface and help deliver innovative customer facing features

  • Develop integrations towards internal capabilities provided by other squads within payment & banking. 

  • Provide thoughtful and comprehensive documentation and testing for your features before shipping them

  • Provide code review feedback to other software engineers, considering both style and implementation

You will be great for this position if: 

  • You have 4+ years of programming experience either in NodeJS, ReactJS and TypeScript

  • You have solid backend skills in microservices running behind an API Gateway

  • You are confident of delivering a React frontend screen of medium complexity

  • You have experience with nosql databases like MongoDB

  • You care for your services running in production and keep them healthy

  • You can work with messaging services (eg.RabbitMQ, Kafka)

  • A passion for writing clean and efficient code

  • You are not afraid to give feedback and ideas to shape the product

  • You are a quick learner and have the ability to pick up new skills and concepts
