Our SumUp office in London is currently hiring for the position of Deputy MLRO to join our UK Compliance Team.
The UK AML & Compliance Team team is a key component of SumUp’s second line of defence and is responsible for the ongoing assessment and monitoring of the group’s KYC, AML & Regulatory Compliance monitoring. SumUp is recruiting for an experienced and self-motivated Deputy MLRO to support our UK Compliance Department in London.
Accountabilities for the role - what are you expected to do?
Identify relevant UK regulations applicable to SumUp, in particular as they relate to AML and monitor the regulatory landscape to identify applicable regulatory change.
Act as the primary point of contact for the UK entity in respect of internal and external audits.
Provide support in respect of the management of the UK regulatory relationship with the FCA.
Provide subject matter advice and guidance to the global KYC and transaction monitoring functions in respect of UK requirements and regulatory expectations.
Engaging with the business and Compliance Business Partner team regarding new features and products launched under the UK license.
Oversee the work conducted by the Financial Crime Investigations Team regarding SARs in the UK as well as prepare them for submission.
Experience/Competencies for the Role - what are you expected to know?
3-5 years of work experience with Compliance and AML in FinTechs or Payments (ideally serving in an advisory role)
Have experience in legal report writing, SAR and regulatory submissions;
Experience in effective Stakeholder management
Have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with colleagues at all levels;
Are proactive and hands-on: you take responsibility and drive through your own changes
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
Hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. A Law degree will be considered a plus.
