Fraud Prevention Strategy Manager

Team Description:

As the Fraud Prevention Strategy Manager at SumUp, you'll lead a team of seven professionals, including analysts, trainees, and specialists, operating across the Americas with a direct impact on our operations in Brazil, the USA, and Mexico. This role is perfect for someone eager to tackle complex challenges in a dynamic, multicultural environment, contributing to the sustainable growth of a market-leading fintech.

What you'll do:

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead a team of 7 professionals in developing and implementing robust fraud prevention strategies, focusing on areas such as merchant onboarding, card transactions, and PIX operations.

  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Create and enhance decision rules using data intelligence to detect and prevent fraud in real-time, ensuring a balanced approach between security and user experience.

  • Global Influence and Alignment: Collaborate with local and global squads and tribes, negotiating priorities and aligning efforts to ensure the successful execution of strategic projects aimed at reducing fraud rates.

  • Continuous Innovation: Identify opportunities for innovation in fraud prevention by exploring new technologies and approaches that can anticipate and neutralize emerging threats.

  • Data-driven, with knowledge of databases, KPI creation, performance measurement, and data-driven decision-making.

Any of the following is considered a plus:

  • SQL/coding skills.

  • A degree in engineering, statistics, mathematics, physics, or a related field.
