About the role
As leader of our Risk & Fraud team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that the whole suite of products and services Sumup offers in Chile is a fraud-free ecosystem and that we are able to empower our beloved merchants to be successful doing what they love in a safe environment, while reducing financial impact of fraudulent activities according to our risk appetite.
This team elaborates innovative and creative strategies based on data and technology to identify suspicious behaviours and therefore develop and implement anti-fraud measures for SumUp's business, putting our merchants’ experience first and minimising risk, hence impacting the lives of thousands of small merchants all over Chile and even globally.

What you'll do
Lead major initiatives and the fraud prevention team in order to mitigate card not present Fraud, effectively reduce chargeback rates, and improve Fraud Prevention Workflows;
Actively participate in the launch of new products and services to effectively manage risk but also keeping a hyper-growth mindset that sets the bar in customer satisfaction
Work in a fast-paced environment across a large number of teams to manage the business’ needs, understanding the customer experience to make business- oriented recommendations and ensuring the requirements and implementation of anti fraud measures for current and new products and services;
Test and implement solutions to improve our decision making process - and in consequence add value and boost our performance for current products and new ones;
Ensure that the fraud prevention team is properly trained, that processes are scalable, and metrics are accurately reported
Provide support, education and training to staff to build fraud risk awareness within the organisation.
Participate in weekly leadership meetings were an overview of the Chile operation is reviewed
You’ll be great for this role if:
You have 5+ years of experience in fraud and/or risk management, and extensive experience working with large arrays of data as a source for decision making
You are experienced with proven track record in the world of Anti Fraud for card not present products;
You are data driven and constantly question the status quo
You have problem solving skills and critical thinking is your strength
You have strong leadership skills
You are skilled in working within a matrix environment and cross-functionally with business, operations and technology functions, particularly in the context of a rapidly changing and growth oriented environment;
You are a high-energy and a creative person, with an entrepreneurial spirit and a willingness to work in a fast-growing and changing environment;
You speak fluent English - you will communicate ideas and concepts to team members and stakeholders from a wide range of positions, countries and cultures, and to build strong and productive relationships and develop innovative solutions;
Speaking fluent Portuguese is a plus
