Elixir Software Engineer - Card Issuing
As an Elixir Engineer in the Card Issuing squad, you’ll be working in a cross-functional team, helping to build a completely new product from the ground up. You’ll be encouraged to collaborate in the entire development process - participating in brainstorming sessions with the team and transforming your ideas into features that empower small merchants across the globe.
What you’ll do
Design, implement, and iteratively improve backend services in Elixir
Maintain and extend the card issuing system, responsible for the issuing and management of the SumUp Card
Participate in API design and implementation for both internal APIs and those exposed to our third-party integrators
Help your team to deliver business value by taking decisions related to backend and actively participating in the product discussions
Collaborate with other software developers, QA and DevOps engineers to ensure smooth deployment, continuous integration, and support for the software that we deliver
Actively participate in code reviews with other software engineers
You’ll be great for this role if
You have previous experience as a backend engineer.
You have relevant experience with Elixir and OTP (whether in a production environment or from pet projects).
You have a good understanding of software architecture and application design.
You have experience with distributed and fault-tolerant systems.
You enjoy creating clean, maintainable and testable code.
Any of the following would be considered a plus
You have experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes.
You’re comfortable with Unix/Linux environments.
