About the team

The Payments Tribe is looking after SumUp’s global card processing platform. As a part of the Payments tribe the Payments Self-service Squad is dedicated to providing SumUp's customers with a seamless payment and payout experience. We build comprehensive views of received funds, payout reports, and easy-to-use payout settings.

We’re currently looking for a Senior Android Engineer to join our Experience stream within the Payments Self-Service team

About the role

As a Senior Android Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining merchant-facing features within the Payout Experience domain. Your work will directly impact crucial functionalities such as:

  • Payout settings and history

  • Third-party bank account management

  • Receivable balance and payments reports

  • Payment details

  • Transaction history

  • Transaction receipts

  • Automatic receipts

Our teams are cross-functional and work with end-to-end responsibility, that is why you will collaborate heavily with Product, Design and Engineering professionals to ensure seamless deployment, integration and support for our software.  Additionally, you’ll contribute to technical maintenance and help reduce technical debt in our Android modules.

Our current tech stack: Kotlin, Java, Github Actions, Firebase, REST, Jetpack libraries(Navigation, WorkManager, Compose), JUnit, Espresso

You will be great for this role if:

  • You have proficiency in Kotlin & Java

  • You have strong understanding of Android SDK & Material Design

  • Have experience with Clean Architecture principles

  • You are familiar with RESTful APIs, unit & UI testing

  • Have experience with Git, Jetpack libraries (Navigation, WorkManager)

  • Have experience with complex fault-tolerant systems 

  • You are proactive and thrive in a fast-paced environment  

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with Jetpack Compose & Dependency Injection (Dagger, Hilt, Koin)

  • Exposure to Jenkins pipelines, GitHub Actions, Firebase App Distribution

  • Background in FinTech & Payments
