Senior Associate Treasury - EU Region

About the team 

As a Senior Associate Treasury, you’ll join the Financial Planning & Analysis team which sits within the broader Finance team. Together with the team, you’ll help the CFO, Sumup’s leadership team and the board gain financial visibility and business insights.

The team manage long-range strategic planning, lead the rolling quarterly forecast process, drive performance reporting and analysis and are a thought partner to our business leaders by cultivating data-driven decision making.

What you’ll do

  • Cash and Liquidity management

  • Follow the processes to monitor and control cash and liquidity 

  • Manage daily cash position

  • Follow the daily processes and reporting (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly)

  • Review and approve the payment runs in the various online banking systems

  • By currency and by entity reporting on a daily basis

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and lender requirements

  • Communicate with Tax and Legal all intercompany cash transactions

  • Monitor balances across different banks and avoid negative interest rates

  • Provide support on treasury projects as: cash flow forecast, cash pool implementation, etc.

  • Assists with the integration of new acquisitions from treasury perspective

  • FX Analysis

  • Make sure SumUp has sufficient currency to meet day-to-day requirements across the different legal entities

  • Execute FX transactions internally and externally for SumUp

  • Operational Banking reporting

  • Report Operational Bank fees on a monthly basis

  • Maintain up to date Operational Bank accounts list

  • Lead the process for opening and closing company’s bank accounts

  • Identify and propose to optimize processes and setup

  • Support the month end closing process where necessary

  • Support the external and internal audit process where necessary

  • Liaison with senior management across the organization

  • Assist in implementing and enforcing Group’s treasury policies and procedures

  • Automation and ERP

  • Support projects on automation of SAP to Online banking integration

  • Support projects on implementation of Treasury module in SAP

  • Support projects on cash reporting from the SAP

You’ll be great for this role if

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree (BA) or Master in finance, accounting or a relevant subject.

  • You’re fluent in English, both written and spoken.

  • You have 3+ years of experience in a similar position with increasing financial responsibility.

  • You have excellent presentation, communication and relationship-building skills demonstrated by the ability to grow and nurture relationships with internal stakeholders.

  • You have excellent financial and commercial acumen and are able to understand and articulate complex financial information in a concise manner.

  • You have strong Excel and system skills (including the ability to build complex models).
