ABOUT THE ROLE:

SumUp’s Sofia Payments Tribe is  focused on core payments processing - a business critical domain.  

As a Product Lead you’ll play an important part in shaping SumUp’s Get Paid  product strategy and in building SumUp’s card acceptance products, used by millions of merchants daily. 

We are looking for a seasoned payments professional with extensive product management background, excellent people leadership skills, and a proven track record of successful fintech products deployed at scale. The product lead is responsible for SumUp’s global payment processing platforms, products and roadmaps, is the main driver for payment processing insights and optimizations, and is a critical contributor to SumUp’s core payments business outcomes. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Lead and manage other product managers and analysts

  • Introduce product management good practices, coach & mentor

  • Be a positive and inspirational role model

  • Co-drive core payments business outcomes

  • Be in charge of sumup’s global acquiring and payment processing strategy while keeping it aligned with SumUp’s overall product ecosystem vision

  • Be the ultimate owner of SumUp’s global payment processing portfolio roadmap and delivery

  • Be responsible for payment processing insights (KPIs, reports and analyses, competitor research) and optimizations (cost, success rates, etc.)

  • Develop and maintain fruitful relationships with 3rd parties key to SumUp’s acquiring capabilities & excellence - PSPs, acquirers, banks, international and local card schemes, wallets, etc.

  • Actively collaborate with SumUp’s stakeholders for best-in-class acquiring and payment processing

  • Actively and with SumUp’s best interest in mind influence people, processes, project outcomes

  • Ensure SumUp’s merchants and their customers are satisfied with their payment experience.

YOU’LL BE GREAT FOR THIS ROLE IF:

  • You have fintech experience - ideally a combination of strong technology background and extensive payments industry experience

  • You have considerable product experience - 10+ years in a senior single contributor or lead roles

  • You have people leadership experience

  • You’ve been involved in the creation of innovative payments products and platforms, preferably in multiple geographies

  • You have a collaborative mindset and take a hands-on approach

  • You understand Conway’s law and how to use it to your advantage

  • You can work with large data for insights and action plans

  • You are a problem solver and opportunities seeker

  • You’re skilled at managing relationships with multiple stakeholders.

  • You have outstanding communication and storytelling skills, with fluent verbal and written English
