Senior Product Designer - Online Store

At SumUp, we empower small merchants to thrive by providing innovative tools and solutions that simplify their business operations. Our Online Store team focuses on enabling merchants to create and manage their eCommerce presence effortlessly.

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our Online Store team and take the lead in designing impactful and user-friendly experiences for our merchants. You’ll work primarily with our Web squad, focusing on improving our Store Editor and Store Front, ensuring exceptional user experiences while driving measurable business impact.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and marketing teams to understand and refine product requirements.

  • Design and improve the Store Editor (the tool merchants use to build their websites) and the Store Front (the final website viewed by customers).

  • Conduct user research to identify pain points, feature gaps, and opportunities for improving the Store Editor and Store Front.

  • Translate insights into wireframes, flow diagrams, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that align with business objectives and user needs.

  • Actively contribute to improving design practices within the team and across the company.

  • Ensure quality and consistency in user experience and visual design throughout the product development lifecycle.

  • Present and communicate design rationale effectively to stakeholders, fostering alignment and understanding.

You’ll Be Great for This Role If You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in designing customer-facing digital products, with a strong focus on UX and UI.

  • A deep understanding of layout, typography, visual hierarchy, and system thinking for consistent, scalable designs.

  • Hands-on experience with design systems and working within established design paradigms.

  • A proven track record of collaborating with product and engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Expertise in conducting both qualitative and quantitative research to inform design decisions.

  • Exceptional critical thinking, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Fluency in design tools and working with quantitative data to validate and improve designs.

  • A customer-centric mindset, with a passion for solving complex problems simply and effectively.
