Point of Sale Lite

A POS system (point of sale system) is the hardware used to process payments and orders, as well as the software running on those systems. ‘Point of sale’ refers to the time and place a customer interacts with a merchant to purchase services or goods.

Besides processing payments, POS systems – such as Point of Sale Lite – usually allow the merchant to take care of administrative tasks, like analysing transaction reports and managing their items and prices from one single platform.

Setting up Point of Sale Lite couldn’t be easier. Just follow these simple steps:

• Unbox the device

• Connect it to its mains cable

• Turn it on using the power button below the SumUp logo

• Follow the instructions to sign into your SumUp profile

• If you don’t have a profile yet, first go to sumup.me using your computer, then log in

• Now you have access to all the features – get started by creating an item catalogue with all your items or access your existing item catalogue saved in your SumUp profile

• To take card payments, simply add an item to your shopping cart and select the payment method “Card Reader”, then follow the instructions

Yes, you do need a SumUp card reader to accept card payments together with Point of Sale Lite.

Currently, Point of Sale Lite is compatible with the SumUp Air card reader. One card reader is included with the purchase of a Point of Sale Lite.

Yes, if you already have a SumUp profile, simply log in with your credentials when turning on your POS Lite. 

Once logged in, you have immediate access to your SumUp profile, your personal item catalogue and your sales history.

Unlike most POS systems, Point of Sale Lite comes with no subscription and no monthly charges. Simply buy the hardware for $595^* and pay the usual transaction fee when you accept payments with your card reader.
