Take in-person payments with only your Android

With Tap to Pay on Android, you can accept contactless debit and credit cards (Visa and Mastercard) as well as Apple Pay, Google Pay and other digital wallets. Please note that SumUp does not currently support American Express cards with Tap to Pay on Android.

To use Tap to Pay on Android you’ll need to be running Android 8 or higher. You’ll also need to make sure you’ve downloaded the free SumUp app.

Tap to Pay by Android has a per-transaction limit of £100 when paid with a physical card. There is no limit when it comes to payments made with digital wallets.

Paying with Tap to Pay on Android is easy. All your customers need to do is hold their card, phone or smart device on the back of your phone until you hear a beep, notifying you that the transaction is complete.

With Tap to Pay on Android, you’ll only pay a small transaction fee of 1.69% on each payment that you take with your phone—but there are no other setup costs, monthly fees or hidden charges.
