iDEAL

Payment type: Real-time Bank Transfer. iDEAL is a bank transfer payment method. Recipients can receive a real time confirmation of the transaction. iDEAL is restricted to use by customers who have been issued an online bank account that is iDEAL compatible and held at a bank based in the Netherlands.

Transaction minimum: €1.00 per transaction

Transaction maximum: N/A

Specific Prohibited Goods and Services: None other than those prohibited goods and services set out within the Terms and the Alternative Payment Method Terms.

Supplemental Terms:

  1. You will provide an effective complaints procedure that is easily available to your customers, in which you can be contacted by e-mail as well as another means of direct contact (such as telephone or chat).

  2. You are not permitted to offer the iDEAL Alternative Payment Method via e-mail link services unless you obtain the prior written permission of SumUp. An iDEAL payment link is a URL that leads to your payment page on which a customer can initiate an iDEAL transaction.

  3. You must cooperate with requests for information in specific situations that require further investigation in relation to your use of iDEAL.

  4. You are responsible for verifying that the status of an iDEAL Transaction is “successful” before you supply your product or service.

  5. In the event of your breach of these supplemental terms, the Terms or the Alternative Payment Method Terms, or if there is actual or suspected fraud on your account, we may immediately terminate the Alternative Payment Method Terms and/or your use of iDEAL.

  6. You will adhere to the terms and conditions for the use of iDEAL under the iDEAL Merchant Integration Guide (MIG), including the use of the iDEAL logo, available on Ideal website.

  7. You may not remove any issuers from the issuer list.

  8. Where at SumUp’s sole discretion you are deemed to be high risk, SumUp reserves the right to request you to implement a customer registration process to record at least the following data concerning the customer: a) Name and e-mail address; b) Account number and name for the bank account number which is being used to make purchases via the iDEAL Alternative Payment Method; c) Additional information for verification in step 2 and the monitoring of Transactions, for example: i. IP address ii. Browser fingerprint iii. Mobile number

Bancontact

Payment type: Debit Card. Bancontact is a debit card Alternative Payment Method, whereby a debit card is issued by an authorised credit institution and allows customers to directly pay for goods and services from their bank accounts.

PayPal T&Cs

Payment method:

PayPal is a redirect-based payment method offered through SumUp's online services. Customers of the online services can select PayPal as a payment method during checkout. Upon selecting PayPal, customers will be redirected to PayPal to complete the payment. Once the payment is finalized, customers will be redirected back to SumUp for final confirmation.

Account Setup:

Merchants who wish to offer PayPal to their customers must have a PayPal business account and connect it to their SumUp account. This can be accomplished by accessing SumUp's merchant dashboard under Online Payments settings or by visiting this link.

Pricing:

Transactions processed through PayPal will be subject to both SumUp's transaction fee (0.10€ per transaction) and PayPal's fee. For comprehensive details regarding PayPal's fees, we kindly direct you to the PayPal's website. The fees can be found on the respective pages mentioned below:

Payouts to Merchants:

PayPal handles payouts directly to merchants. PayPal collects funds from the payers, deducts SumUp's transaction fee and PayPal's fee, and then directly transfers the remaining amount to the merchants. Please note that SumUp will not be involved in any payout transactions related to PayPal for the merchants.

Refunds:

To process a refund, merchants are required to access their PayPal business account. They can initiate a refund by following these steps:

  1. Log in to your PayPal business account.

  2. Navigate to the transaction overview section.

  3. Locate the specific transaction for which a refund is to be processed.

  4. Select the refund option associated with the transaction.

  5. Follow the prompts and provide any necessary information to complete the refund process.

Please note that the refund process is subject to PayPal's policies and procedures, and merchants should familiarize themselves with PayPal's guidelines for issuing refunds.

Disputes:

In the event that a transaction is conducted through PayPal Checkout, either the buyer or the seller can raise a dispute in PayPal’s Resolution Center. If the buyer and seller are unable to reach an agreement, the dispute can be escalated to a PayPal claim. PayPal will conduct an investigation and make a final decision regarding the outcome. It is important to note that SumUp bears no liability for the resolution or outcome of disputes or claims raised through PayPal's Resolution Center or any decisions made by PayPal in relation to such disputes or claims.
